HLTAID003 Provide First Aid


Provide First Aid will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to administer first aid to a casualty who has sustained an injury or illness, until the arrival of professional medical help.
Aim:
Provide First aid will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to administer first aid to a casualty who has sustained an injury or illness, until the arrival of professional medical help.
Theory and concepts of first aid are covered in the course, but there will also be a strong focus on the various practical skills needed to administer first aid.
Online work is completed prior to attending the course, to allow the student to complete the theory at their own pace. The one day training therefore has a ‘hands on approach’ to applying first aid.
Students complete the pre-course study online.
Outcome:
The student will obtain a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in Provide First Aid. The Nationally Recognised First Aid Certificate is valid for three (3) years.
The Cardio Resuscitation component, which is covered in the Provide First Aid course, must be updated every 12 months to maintain competency in the skills required in an emergency situation.

Career Opportunities:
Upon successful completion of Provide First Aid participants will meet Workplace Health & Safety requirements where emergency care is a duty of care. For example: Child care, aged care, tourism, teaching and many more.
