This course is suitable for persons working on electrical equipment, such as electricians and air conditioning technicians. This course is required for licensing as part of the Electrical Safety Regulations 2002.

The course is also suitable for the general public, organisations and corporate clients and will provide participants with the knowledge to confidently perform CPR and use low voltage rescue equipment to rescue a person from low voltage conductors and equipment.

This course can be contextualised to suit your specific requirements.

Entry Requirements:

There are no entry requirements for this qualification; however it is recommended that participants have sufficient literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course.

Recommended over 14yrs only. Participants under the age of 18yrs require a consent form completed by their legal guardian.

  • Principles of first aid, legal issues
  • DRSABCD emergency action plan
  • Infectious diseases and hygiene
  • Management of the unconscious casualty
  • Airway management
  • Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), adult, child & infant
  • Choking
  • Understanding the use of an AED
  • Basic human anatomy and physiology
  • Safe use of the rescue kit
  • Maintenance of rescue equipment
  • Safe use of a fire blanket
  • Procedures and precautions to be undertaken when performing low voltage rescue
  • Removal of a victim from the source of injury
  • Movement of an unconscious victim to a clean safe area using the one man drag method
  • Dealing with burns

Target Audience:

This course is suitable for anyone requiring a CPR and LVR certificate for the workplace and licensing.

Programme Duration & Flexibility:

3-4 hours face-to-face delivery. No pre-course work required

Training & Assessment Methods:

Competency Based Assessment.

Training and assessment is conducted in a friendly classroom setting that reflects a real emergency environment. Training may include but is not limited to practical class sessions, written work, self-paced activities, group discussions, debate multiple-choice questions and practical work.
